Laser for stretch marks

What are stretch marks and how are they caused?

Where and how can they appear?

Stretch marks can appear on various places, including the legs, arms, abdomen and buttocks. They may have a simpler form with small marks and finer lines, but it is not rare to have another form with wider lines and 'damages'. The result; They significantly affect not only our external appearance, but also our psychology.

What is the most drastic course of action?

Therefore, trying to get rid of their presence once and for all, we turn to preventive means and treatments, with creams or other oils that do not yield the maximum and immediate results we desire. Thus, modern techniques come to provide a solution with the laser method, to one of the biggest problems that concerns (mainly women).
How is laser treatment performed?
This technique is done with the use of specialized machines and medicinal substances, which offer immediate and definitive results, in contrast to the rest of the time-consuming treatments that only offer a slow and, perhaps, ineffective effect.

Which laser categories are suitable for the problem of stretch marks?

  • Fractional Laser

This method targets the lower layers of the skin so that the cells responsible for the secretion of collagen are activated and produce it, without causing surface damage. With this method, many tiny holes are created on the surface of the skin in order to produce collagen and elastin from scratch. After healing, the 'damaged' skin is replaced with a new one, reducing the depth of the stretch marks, while their color adapts more to our normal skin. The texture of the skin is improved, while stretch marks disappear and tightening is achieved. Bottom line, this fractional laser delivers pulses of energy into your skin triggering the cells to release all the chemicals they need to create new collagen in the area. This allows the body's natural healing process to take over, which improves the overall appearance of stretch marks.

  • PRP

Το PRP is an excellent, non-invasive treatment for stretch marks because it helps create new collagen and elastin. It basically releases platelets, which are growth factors, into the cells, which stimulate collagen, helping the skin look tighter. First of all, with this method the specialist takes blood from the patient, just as it is done in a blood draw. The blood is then subjected to centrifugation and, after a certain process, a platelet-rich plasma is obtained, which is poured into the intended areas. This treatment is effective in reducing the relaxation of the skin, as well as in dealing with scars resulting from various factors. It is successfully applied in cases of white and red stretch marks.

  • Fractional Laser – PRP

The results of each method separately for the treatment of stretch marks are multiplied when they are combined in the same session. An advantage is the fact that the healing time is shorter due to use PRP which includes growth factors, which contribute to rapid healing.

How can I maintain the result?

The best way to keep your skin smooth without the presence of stretch marks is as follows:
1. Maintain a healthy weight.
2. Avoid dieting.
3. Eat a balanced diet rich in vitamins and minerals. Eating adequate amounts of vitamins A and C can help support the skin, as well as the minerals zinc and silicon.
4. Aim for slow and gradual weight gain during pregnancy.
5. Drink six to eight glasses of water every day.

How many sessions are needed?

Συνήθως απαιτούνται από 2 έως 8 συνεδρίες με μεσοδιάστημα 3 – 4 εβδομάδων.

Are the treatment results immediate?

The result of course depends on the skin, our body, our age and the general state of our health, as well as the color (since the red ones disappear more easily than the white ones) and the size of the stretch marks. However, the time required is an average of 6 sessions, during which the results are noticeable and more visible.
